The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. I've had two different meals since they've opened a short time ago. Their pizza is absolutely fantastic. The south isn't know for great pizzas, but Anthony's pizza is outstanding. The chicken parm was pretty good too. The service was average, but they're a new restaurant and the little things should be expected by any reasonable person.

Decent food. Slow service. I visited from Brooklyn so they had some stiff competition. The spinach dish I had was okay but drowning in sauce. Bread was good but exactly like Joes Pasta.

Anthony's has quickly become one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the Fort Smith-area. This is probably more Americanized Italian food than say what you would find at Bravo Italian (an excellent place) - more family-style Italian food. So, I'm willing to give them a bit of a pass in terms of authenticity or quality as a result than some other reviewers. There are several good appetizers to choose from. We typically get the fried mushrooms, though the bruschetta and stuffed ravioli are quite good. We have tried several of the pasta dishes on the menu and have generally been pleased with all, with the exception of the Chicken Alfredo. I like the alla penne sauce (mixture of marinara and alfredo), though I have found that their alfredo sauce with dishes other than Chicken Alfredo can be quite good. The arabiata sauce has quite the nice kick to it. I did have a calzone a while back. I enjoyed it over all, but probably would not get Italian sausage in it next time. We have not yet tried the pizza, but our friends who have all rave about it. One of my favorite things about Anthony's is the lemon mascarpone cake. It's my favorite dessert here in Fort Smith. They don't make it in-house, but it's still quite delicious. The menu does have a lot of similarities to Joe's Italian (another great place), but I feel like you have a different food experience between the two, like they may not be using quite the same recipes. There are similarities with the bread, but they are not the same - Anthony's bread isn't quite as buttery or oily and doesn't have as much parmesan over it. Also, the olive oil they serve also has balsamic vinegar in it, which Joe's doesn't have. We have been several times and hopefully they'll the first of more restaurants to move into this part of town. The decor and atmosphere is clean, upscale, but still has a warm and casual feel to it. Service was definitely an issue when they first opened, but I feel like they have worked most of the kinks out by now. Parking here is a huge issue, though so it might be better to go outside of peaks dining hours or slow days, like Sunday nights.

I've been to a couple Italian restaurants since moving around, I travel a lot and always try new things. A couple places in Connecticut, New Orleans, Dallas and I can honestly say Anthony's is nothing special. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. Which comes with your typical marinara sauce (with spices), cheese, chicken and Italian bread. When my dish finally arrived the presentation was great and I couldn't wait to try it! Then I took a couple bites and noticed the bread was horribly stale, the sauce bland and the chicken was rubbery. I let it sit for a while and had some red wine to wash it down with, which was delicious btw, but having a drink didn't help. I couldn't make finish the Chicken Parmigiana, the idea of the sub definitely sounds delicious, however I would not suggest eating there. I will say the restaurants look was very appealing and the staff was very professional looking. Hence the reason they don't deserve 1 star. The employees make it a 2! :)

The restaurant itself is really nice, the décor and overall vibe is great. The server we had did a really good job of making sure we were taken care of. That is where the positive review ends... The reason for the 1 star rating is the food...it was the worst Italian I'd ever eaten in my entire life. We started off with the fried mozzarella appetizer and they were burnt. My entrée was the chicken alfredo. The sauce had no flavor whatsoever. It tasted like straight up flour and milk. The chicken was rubbery and gray. My husband had the pepperoni calzone and it was also burnt, however, the main issue with it was the grease. It was so bad it was completely inedible. Pepperoni is normally greasy anywhere you go but this was like "would you like a calzone with that grease?" kind of greasy. I don't like to leave negative reviews but I felt like this particular dining experience warranted a review.

Everything we had tasted great. My wife was pleasantly surprised. The bread was more like homemade compared to the bread stick at the O. Garden. The food was served quickly by a friendly staff.

Best Italian food in Fort Smith. If you get a salad, get the Italian dressing - homemade and delicious! Manicotti is delicious, and the spaghetti bolognese is to die for - a delicious mix of Alfredo and marinara sauce that will make you want to lick your plate. Great service, fantastic food - what more can you ask for?

First time we ate at Anthony's we had very slow service, it took about an hour to get our food. Thinking they were having an off day, we went back the next night, same thing, over an hour to get our food. Although the food is really good, I have never been to an Italian restaurant where you didn't get a salad before your entree. At Anthony's they give you bread with an olive oil & herb dip when you are seated (thank goodness, something to hold us over until our meal arived). The prices seem too high not to offer a salad with an entree. This will be a once in a while restaurant for us, not a weekly one, sorry to say.

The waitress was very nice, food was ok but it took over an hour to get our entrees. The appetizer came out within half an hour of placing an order. It's a brand new restaurant and the place was very busy when we went so they may have just been over burdened that night. We may go back to try the food again on a night that isn't so busy.

Driving down 540 saw the sign on their building that they had opened. Being an Italian from NJ had stayed away from eating Italian in FS since trying Joe's soon after moving to town and found them not to be near the Italian I've eaten in across the country and make at home. Ambiance - None. Lightning was the spot track type that you would use to highlight wall painting or wash walls. They shined in your eyes. Everything was the same color wood, floors, tables, chairs and blinds. The starkness of the wall color made it very cold and uninviting. Rating D Service - I told my wife that it was very down home, as in they opened the bottle of wine and placed it on your table for you to pour yourself just like at home. Took 10 minutes until someone came to our table. 15 minutes after placing our order had to ask about our drinks we had ordered from the bar. Watched as server then went and entered them into their computer. Server wasn't old enough to serve the drinks so another server had to serve. Wine service - see above. Ordered a pizza as an appetizer waited 40 minutes. Main entree arrived three minutes later. Overall very inexperienced. Rating D Food - In Italian restaurants if they have grated cheese on the table I like to try it. It gives me an idea of their attitude toward using quality ingredients in their dishes. This was the cheap tasteless domestic variety. If you like triple cheese on your pizza you will love their pizza. If you think food is about balance and like to be able to taste the sauce, dough and toppings you won't. The dough for the crust didn't use a good high gluten flour like you want to see in pizza. couldn't taste the sauce as it was over powered by the cheese. The sliced Italian sausage topping was average. Still looking for a good pizza in FS. Based on the price we asked if the veal was a frozen pre-breaded product. They said it wasn't pre-breaded. Should have listened to the answer as it was a processed ground reformed product. The pasta did taste homemade but the sauce was the usual sugar added variety and way too sweet. I ordered the Chicken Arabiata. The chicken was done scaloppini style and was tender. However I found the sauce not spicy as advertised. The sauce itself was a combination of their red sauce with an overabundance of oil which floated on the plate. The sauce on my side of pasta needed a major dose of red pepper flakes to offset the sweetness. We did not try dessert. Overall I could not recommend.

Wonderful!!! Took our family of 6 out for dinner we all loved it! Service was wonderful food came out very quickly we all tried something different and shared :) lasagna pizza stromboli manacoti and a chicken pasta dish everything was amazing and the waiter was wonderful and helpful serving our 4 boys
